Gefunden (J. W. von Goethe)

Author: Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Ich ging im Walde
So für mich hin,
Und nichts zu suchen,
Das war mein Sinn.

Im Schatten sah ich
Ein Blümchen stehn,
Wie Sterne leuchtend
Wie Äuglein schön.

Ich wollt es brechen,
Da sagt' es fein:
Soll ich zum Welken,
Gebrochen sein?

Ich grubs mit allen
Den Würzeln aus,
Zum Garten trug ichs
Am hübschen Haus.

Und pflanzt es wieder
Am stillen Ort;
Nun zweigt es immer
Und blüht so fort.

Breath (Georgi Bratanov)

Author: Georgi Bratanov

The sky inhales dusk
expires light.
Again and yet again...
Night and day take turns
Sky and dusk. Sky and light.
Time is round turning
and all constellations
chime over my soul as bells would
Again and yet again...

Where am I, who am I and why
My questions try
To reach the white egg of mystery,
To get into the living kernel of eternity
And to come back along the back route.
To me - me, white
As a Tibet snow-man,
More white, more blue, more rose, more green
And more infinite than susetless down.
The man in the clutches his soul
And weeps as God,
Thirsting for twin, for brother, for double

Georgi Bratanov lahir pada tahun 1944 di kota Yambol. Ia kuliah jurusan Jurnalisme di University "Sv. Kliment Ohridsky" Sofia. Setelah menyelesaikan studi, Bratanov bekerja sebagai editor-in-chief majalah "Zary" dan menjadi pembicara bagi Union of the Blind di Bulgaria. Bubble & Freedom (Neda Darzi)

Neda Darzi (Photo credit: Masoud Soheili)
Guest poems: Neda Darzi

BUBBLE

Journey journey, a dream a mirage
A familiarity a separation
To be not to be, coming going, where to?
Floated the bubbles, any one to anywhere:
One to the north of the jungles
One to the south of the deserts
One to the east, one to the west
Light, liquid, limpid and discerning bubbles
Each one is a story, a pearl of secrets
Is there any ability to say?
Is there any hope to return?
One was attempted to the sea, one was joint to the melody of dew
One was burst by a jay

And one was returned as a clear mirror

FREEDOM

I was living in my own loneliness' desert
The sudden melody of the wind whispered smoothly:
Be flow, be free
To an ambiguous place, preplanned and bewildered,
Lost in space and place
The honored palms, a green root woods in the sea,
Eye veiled woman, blinds for beauties
It was a dream or reality?
Mercy, pity, peace and love unified us
We get together and revolted
Now we whisper to the wind:

Be flow, be free

Believe In Your Heart (Stacey Chillemi)

 Poet: Stacey Chillemi

I woke up one night in the hours of darkness,
I sat up straight in my bed to find a shimmering light in my closet,
But their where no lights on in the room,
I got up and went slowly toward the closet,
To find a pair of gold wings,
An angel was standing by my side,
“What do I do with these gold wings?” I asked the angel
“Put the wings on my child.” Answered the angel
I put the wings on flew to a place that had many stars,
The angel then appeared and said, “Follow your heart, your goals and your dreams.”
Only you know what is right for you
Anything is possible
Miracles do come true ,
Hope and dreams are a reality if let them be,
Life can be wonderful if you let it be,

Footprint on Your Heart (Gary Lenhart)

Someone will walk into your life,
Leave a footprint on your heart,
Turn it into a mudroom cluttered
With encrusted boots, children's mittens,
Scratchy scarves—
Where you linger to unwrap
Or ready yourself for rough exits
Into howling gales or onto
Frozen car seats, expulsions
Into the great outdoors where touch
Is muffled, noses glisten,
And breaths stab,
So that when you meet someone
Who is leaving your life
You will be able to wave stiffIcy mitts and look forward
To an evening in spring
When you can fold winter away
Until your next encounter with
A chill so numbing you strew
The heart's antechamber
With layers of rural garble.

Happy Indonesia Mother's Day (December 22nd)

A mother's love determines how
We love ourselves and others.
There is no sky we'll ever see
Not lit by that first love.

Stripped of love, the universe
Would drive us mad with pain;
But we are born into a world
That greets our cries with joy.

How much I owe you for the kiss
That told me who I was!
The greatest gift--a love of life--
Lay laughing in your eyes.

Because of you my world still has
The soft grace of your smile;
And every wind of fortune bears
The scent of your caress.

(Turlough O'Carolan)

For all that you have given me,
I can return but love. For you
Bound up the wounds I did not see
And gave me hopes and passions new.

I can return but love for you,
Whose unmoved faith my heart did move,
And gave me hopes and passions new,
And loved me till I turned to love.

Whose unmoved faith did my heart move?
The mother of my heart, not blood,
Who loved me till I turned to love.
And I became the soul I would.

The mother of my heart, not blood,
Bound up the wounds I did not see.
And I became the soul I would
For all that you have given me.

(Dimitri Shostakovich)

Happy Mother's Day to my dear Mum,
Author of my personality:
Pleased, I hope, with what you read in me;
Pleased, I hope, with episodes to come.
Yet now I, too, would get some pleasure from
Making you the book in which I see,
Of all the players in my family,
The central character, whom I would plumb.
How beautiful to move in that direction!
Each to each a separate source of pleasure,
Reading in the other's happiness,
in much description, underlying love.
So would we deepen the connection,
Discovering new passages to treasure
As we follow time towards tenderness,
Yearning for what years unread will prove.

(J. S. Bach)

Identity Crisis (E. D. Reeve)

Guest poem by F. D. Reeve

He was urged to prepare for success: "You never can tell,
he was told over and over; "others have made it;
one dare not presume to predict. You never can tell.

Who’s Who in America lists the order of cats
in hunting, fishing, bird-watching, farming,
domestic service--the dictionary order of cats

who have made it. Those not in the book are beyond the pale.
Not to succeed in you chosen profession is unthinkable.
Either you make it or--you’re beyond the pale.

Do you understand?"
"No," he shakes his head.
"Are you ready to forage for freedom?"
"No," he adds,
"I mean, why is a cat always shaking his head?

Because he’s thinking: who am I? I am not
only one-ninth of myself. I always am
all of the selves I have been and will be but am not."

"The normal cat," I tell him, "soon adjusts
to others and to changing circumstances;
he makes his way the way he soon adjusts."

"I can’t," he says, "perhaps because I’m blue,
big-footed, lop-eared, socially awkward, impotent,
and I drink too much, whether because I’m blue

or because I like it, who knows. I want to escape
at five o’clock into an untouchable world
where the top is the bottom and everyone wants to escape

from the middle, everyone, every day. I mean,
I have visions of two green eyes rising
out of the ocean, blinking, knowing what I mean."

"Never mind the picture, repeat after me
the self’s creed. What he tells you you
tells me and I repeats. Now, after me:

I love myself, I wish I would live well.
Your gift of love breaks through my self-defeat.
All prizes are blue. No cat admits defeat.
The next time that he lives he will live well."

Why, O Gish, does thou run about?
The life that thou seekest, thou wilt not find.
When the gods created mankind,
Death they imposed on mankind;
Life they kept in their power.
Thou, O Gish, fill thy belly,
Day and night do thou rejoice,
Daily make a rejoicing!
Day and night a renewal of jollification!
Let thy clothes be clean,
Wash thy head and pour water over thee!
Care for the little one who takes hold of thy hand!
Let the wife rejoice in thy bosom!"

To Whosoever Soul-mate Will Be (anonymous)

From an awkward hello
that turns into a soulful conversation

we talked about our lives
arguing our thoughts
sharing our deepest fear

and then the hearts ask a simple question :
"what does this person mean to me?"
but our hearts never spoken it outloud
(that question) just remained as soliloquy

we're both convinced with this beautiful uncertainty
maybe we've been searching for each other all this time
we walked to follow our dreams
to pursue our Way of Life
yet...
our paths have never crossed
until such remarkable coincidence happened

I'm here not to fulfil the empty space in your heart
you're here not to complete my life
but we're to help each other to embrace this Life
that's why we are willing to make our Vow today
a Vow that will last
